fit-thin-happy asked: i want more cakes! :)
I’m making one tomorrow morning! (:
Anonymous asked: have you ever tried other types of fondant? besides marshmallow, and how did it work for you?
I tried candy fondant (with boiling sugar and whatnot) and it turned out really hard to work with and pretty unattractive. Marshmallow fondant is much much easier for me, especially at such a high altitude.
Anonymous asked: Can you make me a cake?
Potentially, but it’s hard to make an anonymous a cake XP
This simple little cake sold at a church cake auction for $110, entitled “I’m Fondant of You”
Delicious red velvet cupcakes, made with Sprinkles Cupcake Mix. It was my amazing Christmas present from Ursula. Who modeled them, being a fabulous model and all (:
This is Artem’s Christmas present. It took a ton of preparation and new techniques. I basically planned for it to look like skinhead graffiti on a brick wall. I made a few stencils that I intended to spray on with mist frosting. After putting on the fondant, which was a little bit of a struggle, I scored it for the brick effect. And after practicing stenciling only one stencil, the Oi! one, really worked. So I only used the one, then added the frosting and Union Jack for a little pizazz. In the end, it turned out really well and very appreciated by Artem.
This was my friend Jimin’s Christmas present. It’s inspired by her favorite band, Big Bang. A pretty typical cake. I used a 4 inch cake round to make it, and it was hard work. Initially the fondant didn’t cover the cake but I eventually fixed the problem. Just a side note, I misspelled Big Bang but photoshopped it.
My friend Ursula’s birthday cake that I made August 2010. Like other cakes, it was yellow, vanilla frosting, and marshmallow fondant. I used a homemade cutout to get the dress forms in the fondant. I used liquid coloring to get the purple color. It was a pretty simple cake to make, and turned out exactly as planned.
